Creative Idea Generation Workshop

Dr. Salah Ma’mar, expert in thinking training programs, presented a Sarya Community session titled “Creative Idea Generation.” The session attracted a number of enthusiasts in the field and featured wide participation and a distinctive presentation by Dr. Salah about the journey of generating creative ideas.

During the session, Dr. Salah Ma’mar discussed four main schools of thought on creativity, all valid and applied in different contexts and stages depending on the need:

  1. The first school believes creativity is a personal trait, linked to distinguished individuals who think differently from others.

  2. The second school views creativity as production, focusing on creative products rather than individuals.

  3. The third school centers on elements and processes, offering a model for how to generate creative ideas based on four key elements: fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration.

  4. The fourth school believes creativity lies in the creative environment; environments that provide creativity elements produce more creative individuals. Providing certain factors in the environment helps generate a greater number of creative people.

At the conclusion, Dr. Salah recommended several useful programs to the attendees to help develop creative thinking, including SCAMPER, creative problem solving methods (TRIZ theory), and a creative idea generation workshop.
